I watched some of a PBS program last night on the Marine Corps Officer Training School. They made the point that the rigorous training is to evaluate if the idividual will be able to lead others in life or death situations. These guys have to be able to stay focused on taking care of their people under conditions of extreme stress and chaos.
Isn’t this what the church should be like in terms of discipleship? We need to lower the bar on church and raise the bar on disciplship. Not complex, sophisticated church with little discipleship, but simple church and costly discipleship
